About Us

Thomas Klise/Crimson Multimedia, a woman-owned small business based in Connecticut, was founded in Peoria, Illinois in 1966 as Thomas S. Klise Company. Initially, it became the nation’s leading publisher of social justice filmstrips, and later expanded to include titles in history, geography, literature, writing skills, art history, poetry, world cultures, and ancient civilizations. In 2001, Thomas S. Klise Company acquired Spectrum Media, another midwestern educational publisher. Today, the Klise family of products encompasses DVDS, teacher guides, reproducible books, transparency programs, and audio kits.

In 2003, the company ventured into distribution with the acquisition of Crimson Multimedia, a supplier of CD-ROM software to public libraries. This transition led to a focus on video games, and today, Thomas Klise/Crimson Multimedia is a trusted supplier of video games to public libraries. Our proprietary software allows us to create custom branded processing for each of our library customers.

For 59 years, Thomas Klise/Crimson Multimedia has provided quality products,
competitive prices, and unparalleled customer service to schools, libraries, and government customers worldwide.
